How do I get WalletConnect?

Download any supported wallet. There is no WalletConnect app.

I'm having trouble connecting to a wallet or an app.

Contact the wallet provider or app for support.

What does it mean to authorize an app to sync my account?

Account syncing is a feature that enables apps to share encrypted, custom account data between authorized clients. Signing this message is required to use Chat and Notify APIs to elevate the user experience.

A website is asking for my seed phrase or private key. Is this right?

The website that you are interacting with is likely a scam website. WalletConnect will never ask for your private key or wallet's seed phrase. The only legitimate WalletConnect website is https://walletconnect.com/.

I found a fake WalletConnect website.

Report it to a SafeBrowsing phishing service and web browsers will blacklist the domain.

Why is someone from WalletConnect contacting me?

We will never contact you offering support. Anyone sending you a private message offering support is likely a scammer.

How can I report the project IDs of phishing sites?

You can do so by emailing support@walletconnect.com.

I’ve been scammed. What should I do?

We feel your pain! As a rule, you should never give your private key or wallet's seed phrase to anyone.

If you entered your private key or seed phrase into a scam website, we suggest you do the following: 1) transfer your assets to a new wallet immediately, and 2) do not use the old wallet again since it is now compromised. Speed is important, because once the scammers have your key or seed phrase, they will try to transfer them immediately.

If your assets have already been transferred out of your wallet, there is little you can do. If you lost a large amount of crypto (>$USD 500k) you may try SafeBrowsing phishing service (however, we do not endorse them and are not affiliated).
